Albany Entertainment Centre is one of Australia’s premier regional performing arts and conference venues serving the Great Southern.
The facility, uniquely located at the edge of Albany’s magnificent Princess Royal Harbour, has since opening its doors in December 2010 attracted touring productions with international acclaim to the shores of south-west WA.
Its magnificent 618-seat proscenium arch Princess Royal Theatre has, with its state-of-the art fit-out and remarkable acoustics, hosted productions from companies such as Bell Shakespeare, the Sydney Dance Company and WA’s own Black Swan State Theatre Company. Smaller and local productions alike – from cabaret musicals to classical ensembles and fully-fledged brass bands – have also taken to the theatre’s stage, wowing audiences and selling out seats time and again.
The Kalyenup Studio, located at the Centre’s southernmost corner, is an impressive space partly surrounded by the building’s awe-inducing, floor-to-ceiling glass walls. Able to seat up to 200 persons in a variety of configurations, the studio can also be split into two separate rooms with a soundproofed dividing wall. A removable stage can be customised according to requirement, as can a large projector screen. Whether utilised for a week-long conference, as an exhibition space or for a fundraising quiz night, the Kalyenup Studio will practically and comfortably meet any criteria, making your next board meeting much more than your average corporate gathering.
Upstairs, the picturesque Hanover Room seats 20 people in a private boardroom setting. Hanover’s views of the harbour and port provide a unique and beguiling backdrop. A private elevator provides ease of access and the chefs at the Centre’s own View Restaurant can provide delicious catering to keep decision-making minds running in top gear.
Each of these rooms is easily accessible for the disabled. The Princess Royal Theatre and Kalyenup Studio are located on the same level as the Centre car park and the Hanover Room is accessible via a spacious serviced elevator near the Studio.
The Albany Entertainment Centre is located at 2 Toll Place, off Princess Royal Drive, Albany, Western Australia.
