Albany Entertainment Centre is an "A" class performing arts centre. The Theatre has full fly-tower, theatrical lighting and concert sound. It will be a professionally managed venue and is designed to replace the Albany Town Hall Theatre as the main venue for local and touring productions in the Great Southern of Western Australia.

The venue will feature a superb 620 seat theatre as well as a flexible 200 seat studio space. Both spaces can be in operation simultaneously.

The main stage at the venue is in the Princess Royal Theatre.

Acoustics

The theatre has an acoustic which is primarily designed for the spoken word, and will suit many types of entertainment.

Stage
The stage has a 12m opening and is 11.5m deep from the setting line with an additional 1.9m thrust. The gracefully curved Orchestra Pit Lift can provide a further 3m of depth at stage centre and 2m of depth at the sides. The opening is 8m high, and the stage is a fully sprung masonite-on-ply professional stage.

Lighting
The Theatre will be a state of the art contemporary performing arts space. With over 170 conventional lighting instruments as well as 10 state-of-the-art moving lights, there will be little requirement for touring companies to bring any lighting into the venue. Lighting control will include 500 channels and more than 120 dimmers.

Audio
The PA will be capable of delivering 48 channels of audio at a minimum of 99db to all corners of the room.

Studio
The studio space can be utilised in three different configurations.
As two separate 7m by 14m spaces, each with its own winched grid which can be lowered in for ease of rigging audio and room and stage lighting. These grids can be set at varying heights to adjust the feel of the room.

As a single 14 m x 14m space by removing the operable center wall.

As a large flow through space incorporating the southern foyer by the removal of the southern operable wall.

Access equipment
All spaces will have access to the elevated work platform for ease of rigging and focusing. (1 x Haulotte Star 10).

The full equipment and facilities list will be made available through this website closer to the completition date in 2010.
